Hi, I’m MALA.

Before qualifying from the British School of Osteopathy in 2003 I completed a degree course in Applied Biological Sciences but found that I wanted to work more one-on-one with people rather than in research.

I have not looked back, and after a few years of working for other Osteopaths, I worked for two years in a practice in Norfolk with Averille Morgan and Associates which gave me an excellent foundation and the confidence to run the practice I have now. I completed my initial Sutherland training in Norfolk and decided to take a year off and study yoga in India, starting at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala. After returning from some time off, I began my osteopathic practice in Eastbourne in 2009 and have continued to grow from there as an Osteopath and Yoga teacher completing various yoga courses and teacher training courses as well as specialising in treating babies, children, and pregnant mothers. I now combine my yoga and osteopathy to provide hands-on treatments that are gentle and non-invasive and provide specific yoga-based therapeutic exercises to rehabilitate and help maintain my patient’s health and vitality.

I have a continued interest in Embryology and have completed a series of lectures by Jaap Van Der Waal “The Embryo In us “through the Craniosacral Education Trust. I have a personal passion for the development of posture in babies and children and the role posture plays in the health of all of us as human beings.

My Approach

My approach is considered and gentle and I now use gentle subtle techniques to rebalance and restore health in patients’ bodies. I am interested in trauma and the work of Gabor Matte as well as menstrual cycle awareness for all young women and the changing pelvis as we grow. The scope for Osteopathy is far and wide and I feel honoured to have treated the patients I have seen so far; they have all been part of a continued learning process for me as an Osteopath and Yoga Teacher and I am looking forward to another 20 years in practice with the support of my lovely knowledgeable supervisor Ruth Wharton BA (Hons) BSc (Hons) Ost Med DO ND MSc Paediatric Ost Cert Supervision, as I continue to grow and develop within and outside of my treatment room!
